| Description:

This walk takes you on some stairways
in NW Portland to the 'Alexandra St. Bridge built in
1922 with its distinctive ironwork, then to the 1914
Colonial Revival house, White Shield Center that was
once a home for unwed mothers. The path will take you
past a City of Portland water tank into Forest Park
(parts of the trail could be muddy in the rainy season)
and on the Leif Erickson trail before you head back to
the finish. |

Directions:
|
Take the I-504 exit 299B on the left
toward City Center/US-26 W/Beaverton. Merge onto I-405
N. Take exit 2B toward Everett St. Continue on Everett
St. which becomes 14th to Johnson. Left on Johnson to
park in the REI portion of the parking garage.
Southbound, take exit 302B, merge onto I-405 S. and take
exit 2B. Stay straight to NW 16th. Left of NW Everett.
Left on NW 14th. and park as above. |
