EAGLE CREEK

Two distances. This is the premier walk in the entire Columbia River Gorge. You will walk high above Eagle Creek, past many waterfalls. If you go on the 25km walk you will actually pass behind and under Tunnel Falls. The scenery is unsurpassed and this walk has always been a favorite at this event. Note: The 25km option is rated 3+ due to uneven and rocky surfaces.

Bridge at Multnomah Falls

MULTNOMAH/WAHKEENA FALLS

This walk takes you to the top of Multnomah Falls, the most visited scenic attraction in Oregon. After looking down on the Falls, continue past 15 other waterfalls to Wahkeena Spring, the source of Wahkeena Falls. You will then continue down the trail to Wahkeena Falls and the finish.

INDIAN POINT

13km

This walk/hike takes you to one of the most spectacular viewpoints in the Columbia Gorge. The actual viewpoint should only be attempted at one’s own risk as it is a point that is very steep and narrow. The walk/hike can be done without going to the point and is still magnificent. You will climb 2700 ft. up to the Nick Eaton Ridge, along the Ridge and back down through some old growth forest. Please take water and wear proper footware.

WAHCELLA FALLS

This walk is an old favorite, but this year the walk will only be 6km. It will start at and take you through the Bonneville Fish hatchery and the sturgeon viewing area. Then you will hike to one of the most beautiful waterfalls in the entire Columbia Gorge. Then back to the hatchery.

Dry Creek Falls Walk

A neat walk to a secluded lake tucked in a bowl well off the beaten track. You will walk on parts or the famous Pacific Crest Trail that extends from Mexico to Canada.

Mosier Tunnel Walk

MOSIER TUNNELS

This trail goes along the Old Columbia River Highway high above the river. You will walk through the Mosier Tunnels that were closed in 1953 and backfilled for safety. They have been recently reopened as a park. The first tunnel is 288 feet long and was connected to the second with a concrete roof in 1999 as a safety precaution. A worthwhile walk to be enjoyed by all. It has a very easy grade.

Starvation Creek Walk

STARVATION CREEK

This walk takes you to several waterfalls, past an old oven used by the Chinese laborers that built the Old Columbia River Highway, and down to the river. You will actually walk right up to the Columbia and this might be a good time to soak your sore feet. You will return to the start point through several campgrounds.

LARCH MOUNTAIN DESCENT NEW

We will bus you to the top of Larch Mountain and you will hike down. This is a spectacular hike. From the observation point at Larch Mountain you can see “forever.” You will hike through some old-growth forest, along a stream, and past several waterfalls. This walk/hike is available on Saturday June 17 only. Pre-Registration in required as this walk is Limited to the first 100 walkers. Cost for this walk is $10 to defray the cost of the busses.        Our Columbia Gorge Larch Mountain event and the Sternwheeler Cruise Dinner have been so popular that they are completely filled.  We can not take any more registrations for these two events.  All of our other walks and bike are always open. We thank you for your interest.

FORT CASCADE/HAMILTON ISLAND

This walk will take you to Fort Cascade, which was in use from 1856 to 1861. Imagine what it must have been like to be stationed here with the constant wind, the rain, dampness and bitter cold of the winter. You will also walk onto Hamilton Island in the middle of the Columbia River.

TOWN WALK NEW

10km

A new walk through the town, out to the Herman Creek work center (US Forest Service) and onto an island in the Columbia River.

CASCADE LOCKS TO BONNEVILLE

12km

A different version of an old favorite. Walk from Cascade locks to Bonneville and back
along a paved forested trail. This is part of a trail that will eventually go from Portland to The Dalles, a city 40 miles upriver.

BIKE

24km

The bike will start at the Overlook Campground and proceed to and through Cascade
Locks and onto some forest roads. It will go along the river and meander through the back roads of the area.
